Sunday nights, David has been talking about how we should evangelize to our friends or to anybody we meet, really. We are to pray for those opportunities and look out for them. There are people all around us that do not have hope, peace, grace, mercy. They don’t know about the love God has for them. How Christ has died to set them free. They don’t realize that Christianity is more than a bunch of dos and don’ts. Do you realize that?
Is your hope in heaven obvious to others, or are you living in such a way that you really can’t tell the difference between you and a non-christian. It’s important that you live your life as an example. And that calls us to live exemplary lives. Not just avoiding the wrongs of life, but being an active member in the community. We spent a week in New Orleans helping the hurt and needy. There are people like that here in Columbus, too. If we spend the time caring, then we have earned the right to be heard. When you think about evangelizing to your friends, do you tend to write some of them off as not ever being receptive to God’s message of love? We need to be careful that we’re not trying to favor one type of person over another. There are many who have an interest, but won’t show it on the outside. Maybe the problem is that we don’t think that they’re necessarily going to go to hell if we don’t show them Christ. Unfortunately, there are many good people out there who do live respectable lives, but that will never be enough to get even them into heaven. You see, Romans 3:23 says... “...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” There is no way we can get to heaven on our own. Not even the best behave person in the world can get in without Christ. It seems a bit like a daunting task. Immediately, the question comes up about those who don’t have a chance to hear the gospel in distant countries. God has given us the duty to spread his word. If we are not doing that, than we are failing more than God, but we are failing our humanity by not telling others about Christ. If you are rejected, and shunned by many who think you’re just a Bible-thumper. You join the ranks of many who have been rejected and have also experience much worse than what you can perclaim. But sometimes there’s more than one opportunity to share the gospel. Continue to be diligent workers in God’s kingdom. Always be prepared to give a honest answer as to why you have hope in what you do. -Aaron✌♥n☧ |
