I realize a lot of you have really busy schedules in your life. Your schedule may include 8 hours of school each day, 4 hours of part-time work at night, 2 hours of homework, sports practice, sports games, 100 hours required community service, and somewhere in all of that you have to fit in eating and 8-10 hours of sleep.

I have heard a lot about politics this year, this time of year, and it seems the closer we get to voting day, the more it escalates. Some try to persuade others to vote one way or another. Some may discuss the “issues” at hand.
I realize that most of you (targeted readers) are not able to vote this election, but I’m sure you have your opinions formed anyhow. Whether they’ve been given to you by your parents, friends, or you’ve managed to formulate your own opinions... it’s most likely that you have them.

This has been another year of multiple hurricanes buffeting the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts.  A category 3 hurricane has 111-130mph winds and can throw ocean surges of 9-12 feet high! The reach of the storm can span for hundreds of miles (as we had only just discovered with Faye). It really testifies to the power God has, and yet this is a drop in the bucket compared to the almighty power God actually has. The famous storm on Jupiter has been ongoing for ~400 years, spans 15,400 miles, and the wind speeds have been known to get up to 240 mph! You could also consider the whole of our galaxy as a space version of the hurricane. He’s created the whole universe! What a mighty God we serve!

Tony Keith is a financial advisor, as well as an elder here. He says that he can tell what’s important to a person just by looking at what they spend their money on. You may not have much money, but something you do have to your advantage... is time. I’m pretty sure you can tell what’s important to a person when you look at what they spend their time doing (outside of work or school) as well.

Not sure many of you pay attention to such geeky news as I do, but the end of the world was supposed to happen on Wednesday at about 2:30pm. Actually it was only a test run for an upcoming experiment that will happen in a month that some believe will cause a black hole. Why would scientists spend 13 years, $6 billion and tunnel 300 feet underground for a 17 mile long circular track? To see how the beginning of the world happened!
