Sex is beautiful. Sex is wonderful. Sex. Is. Good. Period. God created sex. Would he have created anything, called it good, and then proclaimed it evil? I don’t think so. In the first couple of chapters of the Bible, God creates Adam and Eve and he calls his creation “Very Good”. It wasn’t until God had created Eve that his work was finished, and then he could say it was “Very Good”.
This Sunday, we will be discussing goals and developing a mission statement for our Youth Group. Something to get us thinking forward and striving toward what is ahead. If the church is Christ’s body, then we need to get moving, wouldn’t you agree? Although I don’t completely agree with everything in the Purpose Driven series of books by Rick Warren, and the youth one by Doug Fields... I will say there is good principle behind what they have to say though. There are five essential goals that a strong growing church must simultaneously accomplish. Praise to God, Service to one another and the community, Evangelism to our community and the world, Spiritual growth through study and self-discipline, and Fellowship for encouragement and support. It may be that these are only accomplished with the whole church. But even as the youth group, we are also responsible for fulfilling each of these goals to remain a healthy part of the body.
This week, I’ve not been feeling good with stuffed sinuses, headaches, sorethroat, and general tiredness. I even went to bed before my son one night! My point in mentioning this isn’t so you feel sorry for me, but so that you remember it’s not fun to be sick. Even when it means you get out of school, you can’t really do much but lay around and feel horrible all day, and then you still have to make up all that school work you missed.
Hurray! Congratulations to Trevor on making a decision to make Christ the Lord of your life.
Why Study?

I just got a new Bible. I’ve been quite excited about it. It has several study helps within it so I can have those resources on hand in one large book. There’s something great about getting a new Bible as well. The smell of treated leather, the crispness of the pages, the shiny stuff they put on the outside of the pages, and all those verses that haven’t been underlined or notes that haven’t been made yet. If one year from now, you see my now new Bible and it still has that shine on the pages, and they’re crispy white with no creases... you might wonder why I even bothered getting a new bible.
